'Welcome to Eureka Springs' audiobook soft launches

After more than a year of recording and editing, Welcome to Eureka Springs: The I-Sh*t-You-Not History of America’s Quirkiest Town is now available at all major audiobook sellers.

When I started the audiobook, I had to pick a narrator. I asked myself who would would best represent the town’s spirit, and a crazy idea popped in: A different area resident should narrate each of the sixty short chapters.

I had no idea whether I could pull it off, whether enough people would agree to be part of it, or how the whole mess would sound when put together. Well, it turned out more magical than I dared hope.

I’m excited about the official launch event 3-5PM Sunday, August 30, at the Gravel Bar. I’ll play four of the chapters. After each, I’ll go behind the scenes of the writing process: contradictory sources, delicate interviews, useless (but satisfying) trivia.

If launch is more than a week away, why is it on sale now?

Well, this is my first book. Much to my surprise, I learned that a go-live date can’t be guaranteed for distribution to platforms as diverse as Audible, Apple Books, and Spotify. I needed an earlier soft launch to handle potential problems.

Even more to my surprise, there were none. You can now get your copy.

If you’re one of the narrators, I’ll send you a free download code as soon as I can get them. Ditto for the Carnegie Library.

To anyone who listens to the audiobook, please consider leaving an honest review (anywhere). That will help it reach whatever audience it merits.

Don't miss out!
